Our aim is to create a safe(r)/vulnerable space for Black, People of Color, refugee and immigrant background Transmasculine/Non-binary people within the Trans community and society at large - here’s how we do it.

Love, Care and Support

We offer a space where the Trans and Non-Binary community can experience unconditional love. We show this through creating a culture of care and support within our activities and beyond.

Emotional Responsibility

We ask those who join our community to be committed to developing awareness of the emotional needs of themselves and others. We know that by practicing empathy and vulnerability we are undoing the impacts of oppression, and creating healthy relationships.

Empowerment

We are a space where Trans and Non-Binary folks, especially Black and People Color, are strengthened in their ability to create the life they want and resist oppression in all its forms.

Self-Care

We see self care as a political action that deeply centers our physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. We are committed to practicing self care collectively.

Dignity and Respect

We center the dignity of ourselves and others in our relationships. We create safe(r)/vulnerable spaces where people can feel respected in their gender expression, racial identities, and cultural expression.

Activism

We aim to address issues intersecting with gender freedom, race, feminism, mental, physical and sexual health and issues that may arise when navigating the Dutch legal systems. The movement of Trans Justice is lacking an intersectional feminist analysis which recreated the harms many of BPOCs experience outside of community. As a Black and People of Colour led organization, we now see how our unique role within the movement ecosystem in Amsterdam can increase our ability to match Trans advocacy with feminism, immigration and healthcare issues, and racial justice efforts. Because of the lack of resourcing afforded to Black and POC Trans men/masculine folks, an equally pressing need is to create opportunities for leadership development and strategic planning to ensure we strengthen our ability to achieve the vision of justice, in turn improving mental health, sexual health, and overall health and wellbeing of community members
